I thought the Cape Heritage Hotel had oodles of character. It was well situated within easy driving reach of Camps Bay & Clifton as well as the Waterfront and city shops. The hotel itself is situated in a historic building and square which I found interesting and added to its charm. As a member of a wine club I rather liked the idea that the hotel has the oldest fruit-bearing grapevine in South Africa. That is quite something! There are two wonderful restaurants right on the square which are highly recommended - The Savoy Cabbage & HQ - Headquarters. My room was comfortable and I loved the decor. Each hotel room has its own identity along an eclectic style. All in all I had a wonderful stay. Thank you. Gail - Johannesburg

Great hotel atmosphere with friendly staff. It didn't feel like staying at a hotel but rather a very friendly and well equipped guest house. Very enjoyable experience and great location to Cape Town with quick access to highways.

Staff are amazing, always willing , always smilling, always freindly.notHing is too much of a bother. The rooms were clean and the well prepared.
The noise in the morning of breaking bottles in from of our bedroom window. Not the hotels fault but quite disturbing. Next time I would try and get a romm facing towards the court yard.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is generous and delicious.
The courtyard facing rooms can be a bit loud if there is a band. Cigarette smoke can waft into the bathroom vents.

Totally recommend for a cursory stop
Friendly staff, beautiful room, with a convenient walking distance to vibrant bars and restaurants. Plus, the lovely breakfast served in a charming courtyard under the oldest vine adds a good touch to your stay.
Absolutely nothing.

We stayed in 5 hotels during our recent trip to the Capetown area and this was our favourite. A beautifully designed and kitted-out hotel in one of Capetown's renovated historic buildings. Very large rooms, very friendly and attentive staff and a great breakfast taken either inside or outside within the courtyard garden. Our room even had a UK plug socket provided above the desk - just an example of the impressive attention to detail given to the accommodation by the hotel. The location within the city wasn't the best - but we found it wasn't easy to come up with a "perfect location" within Capetown - you need a car or need to take a taxi to get anywhere and feel safe. But as long as that doesn't worry you, this hotel is a fantastic choice

excellent charm, but some noise issues
The hotel exudes a unique charm that stands out. I appreciated the vintage decor in the Junior Suite with a cozy atmosphere . The mountain view from my room added a fine backdrop to my mornings. Breakfast was a delight, offering a great selection and flavor.
Some noise from nearby streets interrupted the tranquility I sought.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and the staff are extermely helpful in advising places to visit, things to do and restaurants to eat at.
On the first night the bar in the square (and below our window) was playing extremely loud music until 1am making it impossible to sleep. The hotel staff were unable to assist with this, but the music did stop the following night.
